Thegemwish began in a two-bay workshop in Lahore with one stubborn idea: a chair should outlive the person who buys it. Twelve years later we still build that way.
In 2013 our founder, Hassan Raza, was repairing a 60-year-old armchair for his grandmother. The frame had been dowelled by hand and it had not failed once. That chair became the benchmark for everything we have built since.
We started with four makers and a single lathe. Today Thegemwish runs a 2,400 sq ft workshop, works with eleven family-run suppliers across Europe and South Asia, and ships to 30 countries. The lathe is still in the corner. We still use it.
Every workshop expansion has been funded by the same thing: our customers telling us, years later, that a piece is still going strong.
Four makers, one workshop in Gulberg, and a single benchmark: a 60-year-old armchair repaired by hand.
We stopped outsourcing seating. Six upholsterers joined, and our lead times dropped by a third.
Crated, insured, white-glove delivery to 12 countries — with the same makers named on every invoice.
A lifetime promise: we will re-web, re-upholster or re-finish any Thegemwish piece, for as long as you own it.
Eleven family-run suppliers across Europe and South Asia, and still the same lathe in the corner of the workshop.
To make furniture people never have to replace. That means honest materials, joinery that can be repaired, and finishes that age instead of wearing out.
A home where nothing is disposable. Every Thegemwish piece carries a repair passport — a lifetime promise that we will re-web, re-upholster or re-finish it, for as long as you own it.
Written into the workshop wall, and into every warranty we issue.
Solid timber, real stone, natural fibres. No printed plastic pretending to be oak.
Every joint is accessible. Every cushion cover unzips. Every part can be replaced.
FSC-certified timber only, and two trees planted for every piece that ships.
The maker signs the underside of every frame. We know whose hands built your sofa.
